Fly
fishing program in the Lake District
The Lakes and rivers of the Lakes District seem to have a never-ending
delivery of gifts. Salmon and trout wait for the sport fisherman,
the one that comes to visit them, the one that respects them and knows
them, and the one that returns them to their world of freedom; freedom
that breathes and lives in these dream places.

| Day
1 PUERTO MONTT - ENSENADA - RUCA CHALWAFE |
Transfer
from El Tepual airport of Puerto Montt towards Ruca Challwafe, a fishing
lodge located between Cascada and Ensenada (approximately one and
a half hours from the airport) where we will be welcome with a good
pisco sour. We will have time to make ourselves comfortable and rest.
Fishing in the afternoon.
We will set off along lake Llanquihue, at headwaters of the "Sin
Nombre" (No Name) river which is near the lodge, a private spot
which is very good. Here we can find a variety of species such as
rainbow trout, salmo salar, coho and still head. We recommend shooting
type depth lines, sinking 3 and 4, rods for line 7 or 8. Streamer
flies and nymphs. 20.00 hrs. Cocktails and dinner at the lodge.
Optional: You can have a good sauna in a cabin at the edge of the
lake, with a spectacular view of Calbuco volcano and to the lake Llanquihue.
A natural waterfall inside the sauna provides an unique shower.
Overnight accommodation in the lodge. The lodge has rooms 50 m2 above
the lake level, spacious, covered in natural woods, it has a bar,
dinning room, telephone, fax, laundry, fly shop, with a capacity for
4, 6 and 8 people, all with private bathroom and spectacular view
of the lake. You have national and international cuisine. |
| Day 2
RIVER GOL - GOL |
| After breakfast,
early in the morning, we'll drive 90 Km. To the north. The fishing
is by boat until the end of the lake Llanquihue. Here the fishing
is walking on the sides. You could find; rainbow trout and brown trout.
The size is about 3-5 Kg. Picnic lunch in the fishing place. Dinner
and overnight in the Ruca Challwafe. |
| Day 3
RIVER PUELO |
After a
beautiful 60 minutes drive, skirting the estuary of Reloncaví
to the pier of the river Puelo, a modern boat will be waiting for
us that will take us up the river toward the best fishing place in
the river. Amid the mountain range, we are welcomed with all the beauty
for the fisherman. In a warm atmosphere, we will leave in search of
a salmon, Coho, or trout among the pristine beauty of the Puelo. In
the afternoon we will leave to fish in different places of the river,
it is the most glorious combination of pristine wilderness and impressive
beauty, that you will ever see. We will go with our guide who knows
the perfect fishing places. A dream come true.

| Day 4
RIVER BLANCO |
| We will
leave early in the morning looking for the trophy salmon. The river
Blanco is located in a side of the Todos Los Santos lake. It's famous
for the pristine native forest, and spectacular views to the glaciers.
You could find rainbow trout, brown trout, Brooks. Picnic lunch in
the river. Dinner and overnight in the Ruca Challwafe lodge. |
| Day 5
RIVER PETROHUE - PUERTO MONTT |
| The river
Petrohue is famous because of their emerald waters. We have wonderful
views to the volcanoes Puntiagudo, Osorno and Calbuco and during our
ride we will encounter native birds such as Cormoranes, Martin fisherman,
and others. The river is a trout paradise, we could find brown trout,
salmons and rainbow trout. Lunch in the lodge and transfer to the
Puerto Montt's airport. |

- During the end of December and beginning of January there are
a lot of Colihuachos.
