Matetic
Vineyards is located in Rosario Valley, a sub division of San Antonio
Valley, 120 kilometers from Santiago between Casablanca and San Antonio.
This completely enclosed valley, which is 9,000 hectares in length
and perpendicular to the ocean, features extraordinary light and possesses
the ideal climatic and topographic conditions for both red and white
wines. The first 56 planted hectares are in all-organic soils and
are producing 100 percent natural grapes.
The Matetic family, in effort to integrate tourism and the production
of fine wine, offers a complementary program perfect for the wine-loving
public.
The visit begins in the winery where tourists are cordially welcomed
by a bilingual guide to tour the entire wine-making facility and enjoy
the panoramic views of the vineyards. The tour culminates with a wine
tasting in the subterranean tasting room, where wines and accessories
are available for sale. |

History
The story of Matetic Vineyards began in 1999 when the Matetic family
decided to diversify their business and enter the world of viniculture
in Rosario Valley, a stretch of land blessed with a promising climate
and equally favorable soils. From the earliest stages of the winery,
it was decided that a skilled team of professionals would be responsible
for this project, and that is why winemaker Rodrigo Soto, with winemaking
advisor Ken Bernanrds and production advisor Ann Kraemer, were brought
together at the end of 2000 with the task of producing high-quality
Matetic Vineyards wines. They have succeeded. |

The
Winery
The new Matetic Vineyards winery, designed by the Matetic Vineyards
team in cooperation with architect Lawrence Odfjdell, is a state-of-the-art
winemaking facility, constructed so as to complement its glorious
setting. In other words, harmony has been reached between the winery's
organic agricultural practices and the natural landscape of the valley.
This winery, which has a 300 thousand-liter capacity, relies on a
gravitational-flow design that optimizes management of the grapes
brought in from the nearby vineyards. During a tour, visitors can
learn about the different phases of wine production while appreciating
stunning views of the vineyards and the beautiful Rosario Valley. |
