The entire Cordillera de Los Andes in central Chile has an extraordinary
and impressive beauty that gives opportunities to hike, ride horses
or go down Whitewater Rivers, overlooking this spectacular scenery
through the Andean valleys. |

This is
a fascinating excursion to this National Park, particularly to the
glacier and the lagoon of El Morado. Located in the range area of
Cajón del Maipo at 93 km. from Santiago is one of the classic
sceneries of our Andean Range. Their main peaks are El Morado (5.060
mts) and the "Mirador" of El Morado (4.320 mts).
Trails to the hills are snow-covered in winter, so we will wear snow
shoes to arrive to the lagoon and glacier. |

Only 45
minutes southeast of Santiago, in the middle of the Andes Mountains,
runs the tumultuous Maipo River. This exciting river with rapids of
moderate difficulty (class III and IV) give us the experience of rafting
with the beautiful scenery of the spectacular Andean mountains that
continuously surround it. We will run the river for about one hour. |

How
to reach: We suggest regular buses from Santiago to San José
de Maipo village located 1 km. from Los Héroes park. Drivers
may help you to get down in the meeting place. Trip takes 1 hour and

Degree
of difficulty and physical conditioning: Participants have to
be in good physical condition. No rafting experience necessary. Minimum
age to participate is 14 years old. There is no upper age limit. Oar-rigged
(center and stern frame) rafts will be rowed by our staff. Must know
how to swim. |

What
to bring: Dry clothes for changing. Short pants or bathing suit,
windbreaker and Tennis shoes for rafting or rubber sandals. A wetsuit
is better. |

This is
a moderate horse riding through the valleys of the Andean range. Our
guides and the local "arrieros" (Chilean mountain cowboys)
combine their knowledge of the area, expertise in tracking and pathfinding,
as well as handling the horses and mules. The selected group of proud
and beautiful Chilean horses used to the mountain trails and a typical
barbecue lunch in the middle of the Andean scenery make this trip
safe and memorable. |

La Campana
National Park is located by the Central Coastal Range. It is a lush
native forest where the predominant species are boldo, peumo, maitén
and lots of lingue and canelo. It can be a great destination for a
complete day excursion. We will climb a rough, steep trail towards
La Campana's summit (1.828 Mts.) among the woods having open spaces
to get impressive views. After some hours the group will reach the
top to enjoy a fantastic view of the entire width of our country in
this area from the Andean Range to the Pacific Ocean. This hill was
climbed by Charles Darwin in 1836. |

After arrive to this National Park we begin our excursion by an easy
trail well kept towards El Morado Lagoon which takes about 2 hours,
among their typical flora and fauna such as Llaretilla, Olivillo,
Hierba Blanca, Guindillo between others. According to the group fitness
we will attempt the glacier. |

The Aconcagua
Nacional Park (71.000 he), is located in the province of Mendoza,
Argentina, limit to the West and South West with the Horcones Valley
and to the East and to the North with Las Vacas Valley. The Aconcagua
is the highest mount of Los Andes (6.962 m); its summits is the highest
point of the Southern Hemisphere among the six thousand around, none
it is compare, its glaciers are visible from the Valparaíso
Bay in Chile and Mendoza city in Argentina.
We will pick you up early in the morning. Our vehicle will travel
through the international route Chile - Argentina, crossing by the
high Andes Mountains (border and customs) to arrive to the Horcones
Valley. We will get general information about the Park. After, we
start the hiking during 3 to 4 hours towards Confluencia (3.200 m.).
Along the trail we will see different birds, and passing Los Horcones
lagoon, we will arrive to the bottom of the Aconcagua Mount, spectacular
view and, enjoy a picnic lunch.
** If time allows us, visit to Puente del Inca (2.725mt.), for shopping
typical Argentinean handicrafts and visit the thermal bath and the
bridge. Late in the afternoon return to Santiago. |
