Where
magic surrounds you and traditional culture remains
We invite you to experience a different type of tourism, immersed
in the traditions of this singular island that is Chiloé. With
its own unique culture, expressed most typically in its wooden churches,
this mythical archipelago is one of Chile's most fascinating destinations,
retaining a special flavor of witchcraft and magical enchantment that
expresses a way of life little changed since the arrival of the Spanish
conquistadors.

1 CASTRO - DALCAHUE CHANNEL (Altue Sea Kayaking Center) |
Noon-time
reception in Castro. Visit to the handicrafts market in the port,
followed by lunch in one of the typical restaurants just across the
street. Afterwards, brief city tour before heading out to the Altue
Sea Kayaking Center, located on the shores of the Dalcahue Channel
across from Quinchao Island. For the rest of the afternoon, we recommend
you participate in a brief introduction to the fascinating sport of
sea kayaking in the protected waters of the Dalcahue Channel, which
is not only fun in itself, but is the best way to see the area's abundant
bird and sea life. There are the black-necked swans, three varieties
of gulls, terns, grebes, oyster catchers, an occasional penguin, and
sometimes even flamingoes, as well as Pacific dolphins and sea lions.
